After two years, our AclaraConnect conference is back for 2022, and as utilities recover from a pandemic and confront risks from climate change, resource scarcity, and cyberattacks, the conference agenda will reinforce the need for utilities to Rethink Resilience.
AclaraConnect, being held in Arizona May 2-5 at the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown, offers a unique opportunity to network with peers from across the utilities sectors, hear from industry experts in the field and get hands-on learning and experience. This year, our sessions will focus on ways in which utilities can increase visibility into, prevent failures on, and take control of their electric, gas, and water distribution networks.
Also returning is our popular keynote, and this year we are pleased to announce that renowned Hollywood icon William Shatner will participate in a moderated Q&A with attendees on Tuesday, May 3.
Did you know?
William Shatner may be best known for playing Captain James T. Kirk, commander the Starship Enterprise in cult science fiction series Star Trek, but he is truly a renaissance man whose many accomplishments include:
- A real-life flight into space on Amazon Founder Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin’s New Shepard rocket in 2021.
- Winning multiple Emmys and a Golden Globe for his portrayal of eccentric lawyer Denny Crane on both The Practice and Boston Legal.
- Authoring 30 best-selling fiction and non-fiction books in both the fiction and non-fiction genres including the autobiographical Up till Now and Leonard: My Fifty-Year Friendship with a Remarkable Man, both of which were New York Times best sellers.
- Recording several albums, including the critically acclaimed Has Been. In October 2020, his album titled The Blues reached number one on Billboard’s Blues chart.
- Breeding American Quarter horses and developing and riding world champion American Saddlebred horses.
A dedicated philanthropist
Shatner is dedicated to helping others, and his passions for horses and philanthropy were united when he started the Hollywood Charity Horse Show, which raises money for Los Angeles-based children’s charities. He also founded the Nerine Shatner Friendly House, a 30-bed facility in Los Angeles where women can find refuge, shelter, and support, in memory of his late wife.
