International Women's Day: Make a Difference

March 8 is International Women's Day (IWD), a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women - while also marking a call to action for accelerating gender equality.

At Progress Lighting, we've been celebrating and recognizing the women in our company and women who we partner with all week long on our social platforms. They are an amazing group and truly make a difference in our world! A shout-out to:

Our Partners
All of these women design beautiful spaces, balancing form and function for the perfect interior designs. We're proud and thankful to see our lighting designs included in their projects.

Susan Wilson (Susan Wilson Interiors), Doris Pearlman (Possibilities for Design), Piper Stromatt (Curate Homes), Amie Freling (Meme Hill Studios), Jayme Fridley (Fridley Homes), Ebony Stephenson, (Designs by Ebony), Daniela Benloulou (Hamsa Home), and Ally Calder (Our White Farmhouse), Michelle Micamy (Micamy Design Studio), Kendra Outlaw (Progress' Showroom Merchandiser), Mary Dewalt (Mary Dewalt Design Group), and Kristen Rockwood (Studio7 Interiors).

The Women of Progress

We've highlighted just a few of the many women who we work with every day across our lighting divisions. Special shout-outs to our interns, Anna, Becca, and Nicole - As part of their internships with Progress Lighting, these three worked on their own projects that made our brand shine in new and exciting ways. And we introduced you to Kyndra Outlaw, our Showroom Merchandiser, the expert on creating beautiful environments that showcase the many Progress products.

As said, these are only a few of the amazing women of Progress Lighting. Many more are featured in a group picture posted earlier this week. We appreciate the contributions they make on a daily basis to our brands.

Progress Lighting has a mission: to "Equip, Educate, and Excite," a mission that fits perfectly with the IWD 2020 campaign theme of "Collective Individualism":

We are all parts of a whole. Our individual actions, conversations, behaviors and mindsets can have an impact on our larger society. Collectively, we can make change happen. Collectively, we can each help to create a gender equal world.

The Progress mission is more than a marketing strategy. The woman of our company as well as our partners equip, educate and excite by being role models in their communities and the greater world as they share the IWD message every day: An equal world is an enabled world.

Now, it's your turn. We hope you'll shout out the message and make a difference in your world.

Did you know? International Women's Day (IWD) has occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people. Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere. IWD is not country, group or organization specific.
