The Austdac Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) type 12/NMH/288 has been designed to provide battery backup for equipment located in hazardous areas that operates from a nominal 12Vdc supply. The UPS can support loads up to a maximum of 2.5A.
The Austdac UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) is available in two versions, A and B.
The UPS12NMH288-1000-A (A version) has an integrated 10m Type 2S mains cable. The user usually cuts this cable to length and connects the cable to the mains in a user supplied Ex junction box. When the UPS is returned for service, repair or overhaul it is Austdac’s normal practise to replace the integrated Type 2S cable. The integrated Type 2S cable is potted and replacement of the cable requires the potting to be removed with the potential for damage to the UPS.
The UPS12NMH288-1000-B (B version) has an Ex e terminal box inside the UPS for the user to easily connect and disconnect from the mains once the unit has been isolated.
Austdac will be phasing out the UPS12NMH288-1000-A (A version) and recommend all users use the UPS12NMH288-1000-B (B version). This will allow the user to connect and disconnect the UPS easier and reduce service, repair and overhaul costs as the integrated cable will not need to be replaced.
Austdac also recommend that existing UPS12NMH288-1000-A (A version) returned for service, repair or overhaul be converted to a B version.
All future UPS12NMH288-1000-B (B version) will be supplied with a 10m Type 2S cable.
