Meet Medal Pendant Designer: Dan McGinty

You're shopping for lighting, and a pendant catches your eye. It's love at first sight! But why? What exactly makes this design so unique, so striking, so absolutely perfect for your space? Well, when it comes to our Medal pendant, we say it's the sum of its parts: it's all the special little details that add up to its sensational design. In our new video, Dan McGinty, Progress Lighting product designer of Medal, tells us about the inspiration behind his design and how each detail was expressly chosen to create a pendant that brings an urban industrial aesthetic into a modern space.
"The Medal pendant is timeless, clean and very innovative," says Dan. "All the design features that we've included in this fixture just bring it to what an industrial pendant in a residential space — in a home — should be. We wanted to create a fixture that works in all spaces, whether that's Farmhouse, Traditional or any other space of the house." Medal is offered in a choice of plated or painted finishes, including Dan's favorite: a soft blue that works across many decor styles. "The new Coastal blue finish is an eye-catcher, it's something I feel pretty strongly about," says Dan. And we agree. It's a conversation starter that helps tell the story about why the choice of the Medal pendant is often a case of love at first sight. We think you'll love the Medal pendant as much as we do!
