If you're looking for inspiration for a new home or want to reimagine the home you already have, we've got it for you! Our recent collaboration with builder-designer duo Nolan and Jayme Fridley of Fridley Custom Homes delivers a luxurious Modern Farmhouse design.
"My main goal was to create a space where everybody feels at home. I strategically aim to incorporate something from every style into each room. Even if it is not someone's ideal look, there will be something that resonates with them and makes them feel comfortable in the space," said Jayme.
This philosophy is evident the moment you walk into the tour home. Jayme skillfully blended classic farmhouse details with subtle contemporary aspects to create a look that offers something for everyone.
The home's exterior mixes modern and traditional traits, including a red brick patio, light gray metal roof and crisp, larger-scale Gibbes Street lanterns. Throughout the home's interior, warm materials such as off-white walls, oak floors, and soft grey cabinets were create a comfortable vibe.
Jayme selected warm, reclaimed brick for the fireplace in the living room and used a tufted cognac urban-loft-style sofa grounded by vintage layered rugs to blend the contemporary and traditional elements. The Foster six-light chandelier, with exposed modern bulbs in an open, circular design delivers both substance and form in a contemporary silhouette.
Every part of the home includes thoughtful — and unexpected—design details. For example, under the stairs, Jayme created a quant library nook, capitalizing on the light and symmetry of the many windows and the additional light allowed by a statement floating staircase. Contemporary Par fixtures offer adjustable, swivel directional lighting and a clean, modern appearance.
In the dining room, the Bonn six-light chandelier continues the contemporary lighting theme. Smooth metal bars coated in a beautiful matte black finish curve to form a simple, open-cage light, pairing beautifully with a modern version of classic black Windsor chairs.
The open plan kitchen offers classic elements such as an apron sink edged with the same wood featured on the island's drip rail molding. Hinton swing-arm sconces over the open shelving and Tre pendants over the island provide a modern touch. Mixed metals are a design theme throughout the home: the black-finished lighting contrasts wonderfully with the polished nickel sink faucets and chrome cabinet hardware, delivering a collected-over-time look to the brand-new house.
Another key design decision Jayme made was to bring a touch of soft gold metal to virtually every room. The laundry room is highlighted by the unusual choice of the Cayce pendant over the sink. Its honeycomb-inspired metal band plays well with the penny tile backsplash, creating a sweet farmhouse look.
The light and bright, soft gold style is echoed in the bathrooms. The Aiken vanity light in the master bath is finished in Vintage Brass, and Carisa fixtures in soft Vintage Gold bring luxe touch to the powder room and upstairs bath.
The master bedroom showcases an extra tall headboard on the bed, highlighted by the vintage-look Maudlin chandelier.
The cozy home exudes charm and modern details that connect the new owner's story with their individual style.
"Every nook and cranny of this home was planned intentionally to blend the homeowner's styles of contemporary and traditional," said Jayme.
