While the Medal Pendant has a distinctly industrial flair, it was designed to transcend the utilitarian warehouse stereotype so that it can be used in many settings. Dan McGinty, lead designer for the Medal pendant, had definite ideas about the industrial design elements he wanted to include: double prismatic glass, a thick hanging cord, an embossed top box, and exposed screws holding the shade and glass.
Dan drew more than 50 sketches of the fixture before he and the product development team decided on the final design direction. The end result is a clean and modern pendant that truly revolutionizes the industrial genre.

Here are a few design tips that demonstrate how the Medal pendant crosses design boundaries:
Medal's oversized silhouette works beautifully over a round table. Try a single Medal pendant in the breakfast nook of a Farmhouse style kitchen to play up a modern take on vintage charm. Or install a trio of Medal pendants overhead to complement the wow factor of a large waterfall kitchen island.
The Coastal Blue finish option of the Medal pendant is a match that's meant to be in open floor plan spaces where a soft neutral color palette unifies areas. The finish offers a gentle pop of color against the popular white and gray color schemes commonly used in Coastal and Modern Farmhouse settings.
The Medal pendant casts a gently diffused glow from its double prismatic lens that is ideal for task lighting. Try a pair of Medal pendants on either side of a bed for a stylish yet cozy reading light.
The stamped star motif on the Medal pendant's top cover is a nod to the vintage inspiration of the otherwise sleek pendant styling, making it a perfect fit for Rustic spaces that seek a modern edge.
