Tour a Coastal Farmhouse Home for a Great Cause - Part 2 of 2

We spoke with Susan to share the inspiration behind the home - while also highlighting the key elements of the Coastal Farmhouse design style. Textures and colors play a crucial role in bringing a coastal design style to life. According to Susan, while the home has an overall Coastal Farmhouse theme, it even pulls from Transitional and Mid-Century Modern Elements. "Many of our lighting selections feature Black finishes or Mixed Metal tones," says Susan. "Our designers enjoyed the variety to create an upscale coastal look by bringing in different elements without having to feel confined to straight Nickel and Silver finishes."

"A key element that pulls all the spaces together is a combination of distressed wood, shades of blues and grays and nautical-themed accessories," said Susan.

According to Michelle Nettles, of MJN & Associates, lighting selections were not only crucial in complementing the coastal theme - but for offering a cohesive element throughout the open spaces.
"The style had to flow seamlessly from space to space, while looking like they all worked together to create the home," said Michelle.

"The dining room fixture - Glimmer - adds a modern touch to "glam up" distressed finishes," says Emily of EA Interiors. "I like the contrasting elements that create this Coastal dining room for friends and family to enjoy!"

"Colored tones and textures - combined with a modern element - helps create the mood in this master bedroom. The Sway chandelier features Antique Bronze finishes and crystal drops to add a hint of elegance to the overall look."
"Ultimately, we all partnered on this project to help raise funds and awareness for St. Jude," concluded Susan. "The overall product is beautiful had to be designed at a certain level to drive traffic and bring awareness - but also be something that people enjoy.
