Look at the Future of Wi-Fi at BICSI Fall

The IT industry is moving towards new Wi-Fi standards. The technologies coming in Wi-Fi versions 6e and 7 will bring transformational changes to everyday lives. Visit booth 331 at BICSI to learn more from our experts.

How Hubbell prepares for future integrated infrastructure

The IT industry is moving towards new Wi-Fi standards. The technologies coming in Wi-Fi versions 6e and 7 will bring transformational changes to everyday lives. However, it also lays a burden on business to adopt new infrastructure to support the new standards. Hubbell Premise Wiring and AccelTex products play a role in ensuring performance for your business.

The game changers in Wi-Fi performance

New Wi-Fi wireless standards make networks faster, safer, and more stable. Faster wireless means laptops and mobile devices can better support cloud-based gaming and play higher quality video. The new standards also enable new augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) applications.

Wi-Fi 6e is just coming to market now. Industry leaders call it a game changer for consumers and our industry. By expanding 802.11ax into the 6 GHz radio spectrum (an extra 1200 MHz), it delivers more bandwidth and lower latency. This supports more devices on a network without interruption.

Version 7, due in the next few years, extends these benefits with extremely high throughput. It also improves network congestion and interference. Expect a four-fold performance boost.

Moving all that data

All that new tech requires new equipment. New 6 GHz clients will allow users to take advantage of the potential, while providing backward compatibility. What does that mean for your supporting equipment, such as antennas?

The technology refresh may mean a new infrastructure, depending on your current equipment. Have you planned for multi-gig capabilities? The version 6e maximum throughput is 9.6 Gbps. That requires Cat 6A cabling, which already handles 10 Gbps data rates.

Once you have new Wi-Fi capabilities in place, count on more IP devices being deployed. Users tend to fill available bandwidth. New devices and components will feature smaller form factors. Our equipment features enhanced cable management that adapts to future needs.

See the future at BICSI

There’s more to this discussion, like the spread of Power over Ethernet. Visit our booth at the BICSI Fall Show to see for yourself how we prepared to help you meet the challenges of Wi-Fi 6e and 7. We’ll be in booth 331. We look forward to talking with you in Las Vegas.
