An Industry First: Truly Weatherproof Stainless Steel Flip Cover Plates

Hubbell Wiring Device-Kellems is pleased to introduce an industry first series of truly weatherproof stainless steel flip cover plates. Not to be confused with while-in-use covers, these devices are made specifically made for clean room environments that require wash down, such as food/chemical processing, pharmaceutical and water treatment facilities.

These covers are made of 316 Stainless Steel with a smooth polished brushed finish to not only be aesthetically pleasing, but also provide superior protection to dust, water, and corrosive chemicals/environments. The spring loaded covers ensures a complete seal when the cover is closed, and silicone gaskets withstand the harsh cleaning chemicals these covers are exposed to. The exterior laser markings also remove concerns for worn or damaged labels.
The following configurations will be available:

These covers comply with:
UL 514D:
Which applies to metallic and nonmetallic cover plates and associated gaskets for flush-mounted wiring devices intended for installation in accordance with the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70, and the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I, CSA C22.1, General Requirements – Canadian Electrical Code, Part II, CSA C22.2 No. 0-10.
And UL 50E:
Which applies to enclosures for electrical equipment intended to be installed and used in non-hazardous locations in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I, CSA C22.1, the provisions of the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70, and the provisions of Mexico’s Electrical Installations, NOM-001-SEDE, as follows:

a) Enclosures for indoor locations, Types 1, 2, 5, 12, 12K, and 13; and
b) Enclosures for indoor or outdoor locations, Types 3, 3R, 3S, 4, 4X, 6, and 6
