Peace Matters: 5 Ways you can have Confidence in your Foundation

Written by Sarah Banks | May 2, 2022 1:34:05 PM

I remember that sinking feeling (no pun intended) when I started noticing doors and windows sticking and new cracks in the drywall. I didn’t even work for CHANCE at the time, nor know what a helical pile was, but I suspected that I was having foundation issues.

Having come through that experience and gaining the confidence of a stable foundation, rather than a problem that would have continued to grow worse with time, I feel qualified to speak about why “Peace Matters” to all of us at CHANCE Foundation Solutions.

Peace of mind is that unique feeling of confidence that comes when you know there's no need to worry, and that's exactly what you get with CHANCE Foundation Solutions. We stand behind our products and offer property owners a technically superior, cost-effective alternative to other remedial and new construction foundation systems, backed by an extensive Certified Installer training program and 110 years of experience.

Whether you suspect that your foundation may be in danger, or are interested in starting your new construction with complete confidence in the products used to build it, here are 5 ways that you as a homeowner or commercial property owner can have peace when you choose CHANCE helical piles or Atlas push piers for your next project:

1. Warranty

We are confident in our products and we will back them up! We offer all customers a 30-year product warranty, which can be transferred to the new owner when you sell your home. To register your CHANCE helical piles or Atlas push piers, all you have to do is fill out a short, online form and a product registration form will be emailed to you if you ever need it. Learn more about the warranty.

2. Certified Installers

In order to ensure that your foundation systems are properly installed, our warranty can only be offered by CHANCE Certified Installers. Our extensive network of installers around the world go through rigorous training – both in the field and online – every 2 years to ensure they have the latest technology updates and in-depth knowledge of proper installation practices and the CHANCE and Atlas product lines. If you are a contractor who would like to learn more about this industry-unique opportunity, you can read more here. If you are a property owner who wants the peace of mind that comes with hiring a Certified Installer, contact your local distributor to find an installer in your area.

3.  Quality of Material

Our products are manufactured from traceable, prime mill-direct steel. Each product is stamped with a product identification code, including information about the steel supplier and heat number from the steel mill, allowing us to accurately trace the material used for each product we manufacture. Our quality team in Centralia, Missouri, where our products are manufactured, inspects material and welds to ensure that each product that leaves our factory is up to the high standards our customers have come to expect from our products.

4. Building Code

Our engineering team extensively tests our products, both in the field and in the lab, to ensure they will perform as promised. Third party testing has been completed by ICC-ES in the United States and by CCMC in Canada, resulting in many building-code-approved products, including seismic ratings. Learn more about our building code reports here.

5. Predictable Capacity

This may not seem as important as a warranty, but it is! Our products are engineered systems, designed using software that calculates the capacity of each helical pile, and verified by monitoring torque during the installation. By analyzing the soil on your jobsite and the load that needs to be supported (the weight of the structure and its contents), your foundation system will be custom-designed to meet the requirements of the job without the risks of over-designing (added cost) or under-designing (future foundation follies). When a foundation is designed with this level of precision, it is likely that you will never need the warranty. I don’t know about you, but, as a homeowner, that’s what I prefer!
